Here are some pics of my collection so far. I am making shelves in a closet to store my unbuilt kits. There are 50 in these three pics. I have 7 more large totes full of unbuilt kits. Just waiting to build the shelves to get them out of the totes.

Hey jazzbot. Yeah my fiancee has pretty much put my purchases on hold till I actually get some of them done. I guess I don’t blame her considering I have close to 200 unbuilt kits.

nice collection! I tried to keep my under control, at first it was a dozen, then I said, no more than two dozen unbuilt kits. Now I’m trying to control myself at the 50 mark, I think its a losing battle - but I’ll definitely stop at 60!

For years I built them, then bought more. Now, the stash has grown to a moderate two dozen. Feels like a lot looking at them sometimes. They have all come in the 2 years I’ve been in the forums. I gave away or sold others that I lost interest in. It’s a losing battle. [:D]
Geez…I thought I was over the top with my maybe dozen or so kits. I bought a bunch of Luftwaffe planes before I decided what I really wanted to build most is armor. Currently working on a JV44 Focke-Wulf 190 D Dora (Galland Circus) with PE detail–mostly just for practice before I start on my 3 or 4 Tiger models I have stored up. I’ve already bought PE and detail sets for most of them. Good lord–200 kits? I can’t even imagine.
I actually have a few battleship models with photoetch I started on until I realized that battleships bore the pants off me…2 or 3 basic colors (shades of grey) and microscopic photoetched rails are just no fun at all…arrrgh…
You could open your own shop with that lot.
I’ve decided I will not have any more than one or two kits in progress and another one in storage if I see a bargin, besides I need the money and space for my other hobby collecting WW2 german army history and reference books.
The past two years have been pretty much a shock to me. My fiancee is TOTALLY different than my ex-wife. She actually enjoys me working on them and doesn’t care if I get some models when the money isn’t tight. Her and I decided to put my model purchases on hold, due to the amount of kits that I have right now. Which I don’t mind at all. I really need to get a lot of the kits built before I start getting anymore. Just right now it’s really hard finding time to get anything accomplished, due to the 3 kids playing sports.
I currently have 78 kits in the stash: aircraft, AFV, 2 cars and 6 kits I’m building on commission for a friend (she pays for the kits and I build 'em). Yes, I’m disturbed. My wife and I each have our own monthly “allowance,” so you know where mine goes: models and electronics (in that order).
When I get my digital camera next week (finally) I’ll post some pics. [:D]

Just curious–there are a few kits in the top photo, Tamiya kits, which also seem to have a “Model Rectifier Corporation” label as well…I thought that MRC was essentially the same or closely related to the Academy brand? Seems odd…

ya the same here started with a few kits then it grew in to about 30 unbuilt kits and some lost interest in those I mail to the troops on the gulf hopefully that they got them
