My first diorama

Out of 50 yrs making models I’ve never really done a Diorama, although this one moght be considered a vignette. I still need to add a small weather tower next to it as there was one attached to the sub that launched it. And some white for the ripples on the waves.

So what do you think?

John

I like it! Great idea to have a Polaris breach the water!

Awesome!!! Great idea and looks good too!

Great idea,well done.

Never would of thought of that, great idea!

Fantastic, John! Looks great! Did you use Woodland Scenics water effects to make the water aplash, or something else?

I just used some clear acrylic gel that I got at Michaels and just put on layers over the blue colored base.

I like it, a good idea too!

Great idea.

The mast you are referring to is called the test and instrumentation mast or T&I mast. It was attached to the boat when we did shots off the coast of Florida on the Atlantic missile test range.

My last duty station was at the Naval Ordnance Test Unit (NOTU) at Cape Canaveral and I was involved with several Trident 1 and 2 launches from both US boats and UK boats.

Cool idea by the way [:D]

Excellent composition.

Also a good reason to use the most dramatic paintjob the missile had.

A great theme, very effective, very well done. It’s just water, a splash and a missile but it feels like you can look at it for so, so long and pull so much from it. And the splash looks so incredibly real. Great job!!

John, that is very cool. Good job!

falconmod, that is a brilliant first diorama display.

Hope to see more dioramas from you.

Thats a superb looking build John. Great idea and brilliant excecution.

At first view, what a surprise. And in a good way.

I also think it is extra-cool. Maybe a bit sobering, but extra cool.
