Well i finally have bitten the bullet, and tackled my first airplane model in 20 years. I have been modeling armor in various scales for the last 10 years, and O-scale railroading for the last year. But i was really bitting at the bit to try soemthing new. So for my first model i chose what i thougth would be an easy build. A Tamiya Grumman wildcat in 1/48 scale. How do i like it, GREAT. It cleaned up really well, with very little filling.
Now a couple of questions. First i have been using testors model master paint thinned with modelmaster airbrush thinner for the paint. No problem there. It is using the gloss coat, it leaves it a bit blochy looking. AM i putting it on to thick? THin?
For my next project i was looking an an accurate minutures Avenger. How are these kits? Should i stay with this choice., or try another choice?
Thanks Bill
Sounds like your coat was too heavy. You might want to try Future Floor Wax for your gloss coats.
