My Dads F-4 Phantom (DONE, DONE and DONE)

Ok this what i had done before my little insadent last night think i’ll stick to working during the day [:)] The ejection seats are from cutting edge but used the kit parts for the face ejection curtan. The exaust nozzles where painted burnt iron then with clear smoke i then masked the out side and shot them flat black from the inside blowing paint the direction of the exaust flow that gave me little voids that i then painted with a mix of clear orange and clear smoke after that dried i went back over them with clear smoke.

This is the 20mm gun pod that goes on the center line underneithe it will get painted gray.

some pics of the stock office

This to show you the area that i live in for those of you that seen my last thread iam surounded by state trust land. The first pic is out the back door by my shed all mountains and in the front all open deasert.

This shows the area where my dad killed the snake, only about 3ft away from my shed door.

Ok some good progress here. Comming along nicely.

So if you dont mind me asking, Why do you live where you do?

[(-D][(-D] I knew IT!![(-D] You’d be back in there sooner or later!! [:D] Ok Rob, looks good so far & Hey, just remember, when the sun starts to set… Clear outt a da shed[swg]

I had no choice in it, it was my dads idea he likes living in BFE and he decided not to evan talk to me or my mom about moveing he came home one and said were movin and that was that.

I can understand that Rob. Been thru that a time or two with my folks[sigh]

Ok well…so where did you live before?..if you dont mind me asking.

In mesa its a real town Iam a city boy. I was born here in mesa Az in 71 moved to illinois lived there for 10 years and then moved to colorado springs cause my dad got stationed at peterson AFB lived there until 88 and moveed back to Arizona. I know not really what you asked but i figured id give you the run down.

Works for me.

Ill tell you I was born in Birmingham AL in 1971, moved to Knoxville TN cause dad got a better job, moved here to Tuscaloosa AL to go to The University of Alabama (12 national championships) and never left. [#offtopic]So any way back to models now.

Great looking progress there. I like your idea on the exhausts, and the inside portion looks very realistic. Just last week I was trying to get the same effect on my F104 exhaust, but it didn’t come out as good as yours. Not too late though, so I may steal your idea.

Keep up with the progress reports, and tell your Dad ‘Thank You’ for his service to our Country.

stinger

That is some nice looking work there. The seats look really nice. I have been thinking about that kit. Is it really worth that nice price tag?

Well for what i paid for it yes its a vary nice Kit, this is my second one i built the J model before and i tend not to pay over $100 for a model both my tamiya kits cost me $82ea. Just to let you know after the cocpit is painted and screwd in the fusalage work is almost done all i need to do now is glue the wing tips on and its ready for paint.

Its more or less a shake and bake kit.

Well if it’s “Shake & Bake” why don’t ya shake the lead out & bake up some PICS!![:-^]

Its gettin dark out!

[V][censored] excuses… excuses!![;)]

Tell ya what next one i’ll be shure to send it to you alive [:D]

[dinner] Just remember, ya gotta catch it first!![(-D]

Are you sure about the gun pod being grey? I remember them being O.D. during the war.

From what my dad tells me a grey or dark grey, he was stationed at cam rahn bay with the 12th TFW 558th TFS.

I checked my photo references and all the photos of F-4s carrying the Vulcan shows them painted OD.
