My custom Seaview "rebirth"

My personal Voyage to the bottom of the Sea Seaview build. This model WAS a limited edition resin kit from Paul LUBLINER in the 1990’s. It WAS the eight window movie version. The model was severely damaged so instead of throwing it out, I grafted on an injected molded TV version nose, also by Paul LUBLINER. I also added four more missle hatches, extended the walkway between the missle hatches to the rear escape hatch, hand cut NEW limber holes, filled in and sanded smooth the dead lights on the sail, added scratch built items on the rear wall of the interior while retaining and modifying the kits supplied photo etch interior braces ,updated the lighting and weathered and painted the model as it was seen during the production of the series per the 17’3” filming model, not as it is now after several “restorations”. The model is 26.3” in length. While I don’t know exactly how many kits were originally produced by Paul, I know this is a one of a kind build now and a treasured part of my Irwin Allen collection.

Hi,

That turned out great. It’s nice to see that you were able to not just slavage, but actually maybe even improve the model after your unfortunate mishap. [:)]

OOOOOH !

Dats beautimus ! Great job in the re-build . Love the interior lighting !

Superb! I hope you saved the other nose, it would make a nice shipyard diorama.

Oh wow I think I’d have a heart attack if I had something that I’d spent that much work on fall to the floor!!!

But the TV Seaview looks magnificent!!! Love her!!! [ht]

Great work! Now for the giant octopus… [:D]
