My B-36 disaster

I had spent quite a while on this plane and applied two coats of Tamiya clear yellow thinned about 8:1 to achieve the yellow tinge on the magnesium I wanted. The first coat would have been perfect however I went overboard and applied a second than decaled and sealed it with flat. It was too much, so I have started to strip the model (some of which you see here)

Luckily Revell was good enough to send me the entire new decal sheet for free. This is a great model and I want to get it right. We go too far sometime with technique and thats what happened here. Also this is a film photo taken under flourecent light which will amber the film even more than reality…I’ll post some more in progress photos when I get to it.

Condolences Bro. It looked like a nice build too. BTW, was the tail section foiled ? Looked good !

Nice build, bummer about the coating.

Cheers [#toast],

Sometimes we don’t know when to leave good enough alone. Hope the pe-paint goes well.

Regards, Rick

good luck in the re-paint, I hope it goes better than the first round.

That is too bad. It looked like a very nice build. If at first you don’t succeed, blame it on the Crew Chief. [BH]
