Mr Color Paints Shelf Life

I’ve been away from the bench for a bit. I invested heavily in Mr Color paints - very happy how they brush and spray with their leveling thinner. Back at the bench my Mr Color paints are super gloopy and almost dried up. They have been closed tightly and have the plastic gasket thingy in tact. These paints are more than 4 or 5 years old. I may be able to revive by adding their thinner but man… I have 30 year old Humbrol and Testors paints that are in great shape. Anyone else seeing this - and don’t get me wrong I’m a huge fan of these paints. They have been my go to since Model Master disappeared.

Solvents in lacquer paints eventually evaporate. Rather than the thinner, use their replenishing agent to restore them. I also keep my excess paints in a closed container to help their longevity, but I go through my lacquers fairly quickly.
