Wanted to sort of build something out of the norm for me. Picked up this kit at a model car show last October and thought it was a good idea to build it. Didn’t like the oversized spokes on the kit so I replaced them with guitar strings. Nipples that hold the spokes are actually hypodermic needles cut into small pieces. I also decided to use my own wiring for the brakes, transmission and tachometer, the ones provided in the kit are also way out of scale. Kind of a finicky kit to build even at this scale but with a bit of patience, it truly does turn out pretty decent…
That looks great. I bought one last year. Was going to do it in orange also. Spokes look great. I did buy some gray wire for the cables. Not sure why they did not include a smooth seat.
That’s great, really like it.

Nice Job!!! Looks fantastic.
Aha!
The famous but slippery Banana Seat! Great job, Can I ride it? That looks like Schwinn’s version of a Sturmy-Archer Three Speed shift mechanism.
Very cool! Takes me back to my childhood. Always wanted one of these but had to settle for a standard Schwinn Stingray…
Yep, the must have bike for tweens in the early 70s, it and the Stingray in Electric Blue.
