…my favorite war pic from childhood is battleground (made in 1949…about the seige @ bastone)…so the shermans have hvss suspension…and i think thats not right for that war…but i still love the movie…had to tell y’all…jeffl
since im still… well in my teen years, i would have to say my favorite war movie is got to be either enemy at the gates or the german movie Stalingrad (with english subtitles) and the scary part is, even though i have never taken a german class in my life, i can understand some of it. huh go fig.
Jeff, I like that film also. I may not have been that cold in my Army days at Ft. Carson, but it sure felt like it!!
If you ever get the chance, check out Theirs Is The Glory. 1946 I think. Operation Market Garden from the British side. Not so good acting or dialogue, but a lot of war surplus equipment. Oh, and they BLOW UP A PANTHER! [:O] The scene is way too short, but that has to count for something.
I Remember seeing a long time ago. I hope I get lucky and catch it on AMC or TMC.

Butch, that is something you don’t see every day. A real Panther being destroyed for the sake of a movie. Would love to see that.
