Just a quiet little reminder[swg]
Well, if you’re the guy limping around, I’ll be the guy bumping into the tables, because I forgot and left my glasses home again.
Marc, have fun! Unfortunately, I can’t make it this year, prior family obligations. First one I’ve missed in the last 4 years. If you entering the contest, good luck! I’m just sorry I’m not going to get to see your 190’s from 1/144 to 1/24. looking forward to pics on our site.
Don… go put them in the car right now[swg]
waikong… sorry to hear that but family comes first. I’ll take lots-o-pics.
Grrr. Wingnut dont remind me [:(] Lets just hope it rains again this year. Then the car show I am supposed to go to will be rained out. [:D]
Well the car show was cancelled (of course I had to drive there THEN find out,[censored]) But I was able to get the car home, and tucked in…with enough time to head to MosquitoCon [:D]
I was too late to enter anything in the show so I just went on a shopping spree. For $13 I got: 1/72 Revell Catalina, 1/48 Monogram Hurricane, and a 1/48 Monogram Corsair. I’m a happy modeler…
The show seemed to have better representaion across all the classes this year. It wasnt all 1/48 WW2 fighters, there was a nice cross section.
For some reason everywhere I went I kept finding little green FW-190’s in all sizes… (wing_nut?) [(-D]
Little green 190’s? …really?[:-^] Glad you could make TAdan and too bad we didn’t meet.
I got there a little after 12. The show was good - I haven’t been to one for years, but this seemed very well-represented. There was a wide variety of subjects - but I didn’t spot a 1/144 P-51. Maybe it was too small for me to spot, though.
There was a something like 1/32-scale USS Maine at the last table - it was huge! There were too many people for me to get a really good look at any of the models, though - I would have needed to get down on my knees to get a really close look at most of them. But from what I could see, they were all very well done.
Then I went into the other room to look for some model kits. It was overwhelming, seeing nothing but boxes filled with models, from floor to ceiling - For a moment I thought I might have strayed into Rob Grovonius’ basement. [:D] I picked up 4 kits I had built when I was a kid, a 5th that I had had my eyes on, and a book. Grabbed a hot dog, wandered around a bit to see if I missed anything, and then I was on my way home. I only spent a little over 2 hours there, but it felt like considerably longer - but not in a bad way.
I didn’t see any WingNut types hobbling around, though. And I managed to not knock over any tables.
I was limping all over the place[:D] but it was crowded. Glad you made and had a good time.
