two more weeks to go. my girlfriend is coming to stay over for these several weekends and then the entire summer. still can’t convince her to come to the event with me since she’s gotta study for her pharmacy school exams. hopefully i won’t get too distracted and finish my accurate miniature P-51A mustang and the tamiya type 97 chi-ha. there, i won’t keep them secrets since i am just gonna go for brownie points for participation. with guys like marc and waikong there the lil mustang should probably be listed in the novice category. =P it is my first attempt to completely finish an aircraft with an airbrush and preshading though.
Reservations are made, car rental secured, and less than two weeks to go. This will be first time I’m back in NJ since last year’s MosquitoCon.
Make sure if you come up and introduce yourself, that you tell me you’re from the FSM forums. People come up all the time and say “Hey, I’m Bob”, and expect me to know who they are. Aside from that Martin Quinn fella, I don’t know many folks from the forums.
I’ve met you at the nationals already. Look forward to seeing you there again as well. Mosquitocon here I come!! I hope there’s some decent juniors competition…
I hear they’re not letting Martin compete in Juniors anymore, some new rule that says you’re not allowed to compete in Juniors if you have unbuilt models that are older than your kids…lol.
Half a week left. But @#$!$%!#$%#$@!#$T$$#$% and more curses that I was requested to do overtime for what I am working on. I wonder if I can make it there by 3ish at least with a 70+ mile trip straight from parkway exit 89. Gahhh! = ( There is always next year.
Well I was dissapointed that I could not make it this year. I have to go to a Pontiac show at Englishtown on Saturday. Then I noticed the weather! If it rains, I may still make it to Mosquito Con after all! Ill have to dust off some of my models for the novice class
I know it’s not MosquitoCon, but if you can’t make it on Saturday, at the same location on Sunday is the NJ Historical Miniatures Associates show. While it’s mostly a figure show, they have a pretty good turnout of models too. Email me if you need any futher intel.
I’ll be leaving for NJ tomorrow, so I’ll be out of touch until my return (well, ok, there’s some discussion that I’m always out of touch, but that’s usually with reality! )
I got about 200 pictures to process.
It was an excellant show and the judges did an outstanding job in a very tough decision process.
There were so many exceptional models.
