Moskit exhausts

I’m intrigued by the Moskit exhaust stacks being offered lately. I spend a lot of time very carefully hollowing out stacks because I just don’t like the look of solid ones on an otherwise very detailed kit, so I would be willing to pay that Moskit price if the product’s worth it. What has been the experience of those who have used them? I haven’t seen any in the flesh yet, so I don’t even know what they look like.

I’ve used them on a couple of projects and they do look great. The color is near perfect right out of the box so you don’t even have to paint them. The difficulty of installation varies a bit depending on the type of exhausts and the kit your building. I installed them on a Bf109F and a Fujimi “Judy”, both in 1/72 scale, with no major problems. Only their price and limited number of subjects has kept me from using them more often.

I have a set for a 48 Spitfire, as already said it depends on the subject.
They are metal and waffer thin, that’s the reason for their high price.

The Moskit exhausts have been around for a while. They are excellent quality but very expensive. I’ve used a couple of sets on “special builds” and they workked out well. Availability has been spotty but most are findable. Meteor Productions usually has the best selection.

I bought a set for an F4U-2 Corsair, and honestly they don’t look correct at all!!! they look more like for a straight line engine than a F4U stack set-up. I’m trying to wrap up the Corsair this week, but I doubt I will have too much time to mess with these pipes. I think they will slide into my spares box for now.
