Morgan 4/4

This is my Morgan 4/4 painted with Tamiya TS-9 British Green with Model Master Dark Red seats and a Tamiya TS-29 Semi-Gloss Black interior. I built this Out-Of-Box.

That’s a beauty! I’ve had great luck with the tamiya British green right out of the can. Well done, that’s going on my wish list.

Edit: holey cow! That kit is $$$

Looks really nice!

That is pretty sharp! Is it Tamiya 1/24?

Thank you guys!

Yes, it is. The wire wheels in this kit and the Jaguar Mk. II Saloon are absolutely gorgous! You don’t see engraving like that any more!

Your dashboard is amazing! How did you paint the bezels and switches?

BTW, the kit instructions mentioned that the ladder frame for the chassis is ash wood timber. That was quite a surprise!

Oh My Goodness !

A Ducky-Mobile ! ! You might like to know .The Character " Ducky " ( Doctor Mallard ) from N.C.I.S. drives one in the show . I think that car was David Mc Callum’s real special classic .

I detailed the dash very carefully under a magnifier and a steady hand. The ash frame was known to rot and replacements can be had in either ash wood timber or steel for a price!

Actually, the Morgan was sourced by the Studio for Ducky to drive. David Mc Callum wanted Ducky to drive an old MG Tourer, but Executive Producer Donald Bellisario said no! Ducky drives a Morgan!

…so skill was used to detail the dash. Darn it, I was hoping for a lazy man’s panacea. [:$]

I actually have a Tamiya Morgan 4/4, and had removed all the fittings and remade them as separate parts to ease painting the body. I also vac-formed a folded top to replace the kit part. I painted the body BRG like yours, but I think I’ll need to strip and repaint for a better finish.

I know what you mean as I look for an easy way around certain things. In the end, I end up doing it the way it was recommended, aka the hard way and it usually comes out pretty good! Some days, I do good on painting and others, not so much. Good luck on refinishing your Morgan!

Hi,

Your build looks incredible. [:)]

Pat

Thank you Pat!

Great looking model. It even has the leather strap that keeps the hood panels closed…

Amazing!

Thank you JohnnyK and osher! I just love these older sports cars.
