OK, I like a big 1/32 F4 Phantom as much as the next guy. And yes, it would be nice to model a Royal Navy or Royal Air Force version. Bear in mind, this isnt a kit, its a conversion kit. You still need to provide a donor Phantom. And yes, it has 9 sets of decals, nice. But $1000 ? I really wonder about people that “need” a kit to that extent that they would spend a weeks wages on it…[:S]
Man!! You only make $1000 a week???
Thats net, not gross - Just an underpaid Cop, Donald.
Someone has way to much money. I would like to meet him and help him relieve him of this excess.

Well, I’ve spent that much. But it has been at the clip of about $15 to $40 at a time. In my lifetime (and that goes back a way), I’ve bought a couple of pretty nice cars for less than that. But hey, we should do what is right for ourselves. More power to them. Rick
No kidding, have you seen the guy on Ebay selling a built 1/350 Revell Bismark diorama? $100,000.00 Some people aren’t really in touch with reality are they [:)]
Sure, there isn’t much interest in that stuff from modelers, but man, some folks will pay a lot for ANYTHING… (Like Trumpeter’s C-47… [whstl] )
I wouldn’t even think about it for any built kit… On the other hand, I dropped 2 grand in just one year, just to fly around in some 60-year-old airplanes painted green & grey or silver, or blue… Another time, I blew a week’s pay just to yank & bank an old yeller Navy T-34A around the sky and “shoot” at another T-34, then turn around and let him “shoot” at me for 45 minutes, and all I got was a VHS tape… Or when I dropped 3,000 on a buncha old German army stuff and used it to run around in the woods, dressed like a Kraut, and shoot blanks at other guys runnin’ around in the woods wearin’ old US Army stuff and shootin’ blanks back at me…
Man… Some people have too much money, I’ll tell ya…[t$t]
As someone who is profoundly guilty of dropping serious cash on Ebay over the years, it has been my experience that it’s all a matter of how important & significant an item is to you. Someone who flew or maintained that British Phantom might be willing to drop a grand on it. As far as the Bismarck goes, I see people put things out there at insane prices for two reasons-there’s always a chance some lottery winner will see it, want it, & not care how much it is. Far more common is the guy who puts out a rare kit for a grand knowing full well it’s not going to happen-he’s waiting for that email from the guy that says, “I won’t go a grand on it, but if you lower your reserve to $400.00 you’ve got a deal.” I’ve done this several times (as the bidder) and every single time the seller has jumped at the deal.
That has to be a typo doesnt it ?? Or an example of what happens when you start sprinkling methamphetamine on your cornflakes instead of sugar.
1300 for a conversion kit and 100 grand for a finished Bismark. Ok I have to say that these two are smoking way to much of the funny stuff.
