Monogram Mafia III

Deal me in, Don Stik! Rex can’t have the only Phantoms on the board, so put me down for the 1/48 F-4C, and the old white box release of the 1/48 P-39.

Glenn

MV, you are added to the roster.

Stik, I will be going in with the Voodoo for now and something else as the second later on.

PJ, Monogram 1/48 F-101B?

Yeah, was afraid of that. Probably for the best. Got too much going on as it is.

Maybe some other time. [:)]

Gary

Well there is no hard end date for this GB, so when you can join, we will likely still be here.

Ok, I’m in! You’ll need an inside man with the coppers, so add me with a Revell Ford Expedition police SSV. Yeah, it’s a snap kit, wanna make something of it?! Just lemme remember where I left my gat.

I’ll be doing a Monogram kit also, just gotta decide which one.

Ok, pyr, your in with your selection. No worries about it being a snap job… any R/M kit is welcome

Glenn, glad you are doing a Phantom also. It will nice to see the 1/48 built while the 1/72 is built.

“Phantom, the original stealth fighter” “umm, Mr Mac,the Phantom is NOT a stealth fighter” “I don’t care, it has a stealthy name”,crumples up drawings in anger, stomps on them, then calms down, smoothes the drawings out a little, then “build it anyway, I ain’t redrawing it”,and that ladies and gentlemen is how the wings got bent up, the tail got bent down, and the nose got kinked down into a droop like that.

well, either that,or all the compromises got drawn in crayon as problems came up and were solved,no one really knows for sure

okay, gotta go, time to run all the radar’s tubes out to the TV store and test them to see which ones to replace

Rex

Hey Stick, put me in for this one. Not sure what kits yet so I will check out the stash and see whats on my wish list. Im finishing up a P-51 kit right now

Steve

Awesome! I’ll definitely join. Gimme a bit to think of a car and I’ll get back to you there.

Pick 2 Cody…[;)]

Stik, he lives over in Nashville.

Surely you recognize the Phantom of the Opry?

Rex

for all you Googling Youtube listeners, hold out for the Jerry Reed version, it is better then the Johnny Tillitson recording.

geeez, I am getting goofy waiting for these group builds to start (“getting??”,shush, Sarge)

That’s the one, and oldie but goody!

Just making sure PJ. I am pretty sure that Monogram did a small box scale Voodoo as well, way back when… It is indeed an oldie but goody. I built the RF-101B kit and rally liked it. Unfortunately it did not survive all the moves, earthquakes, cats, and kids of that time of my life.

Nashville Opry huh Rex? is that where he has been hanging out nowadays? Sounds like your ready to start some kit work now…

Sure am, Carlos

Just like a stock car racer, I was told when I started building models that to become a top notch modeler (or racer), all you have to do is fill your mouth with marbles. Each time you finish a kit (or race), you spit one marble out.

When you have lost all your marbles, you are a model builder. (or racer)

I now have a new start date for July (this GB), one in August, and another in November, and I missed the one that ends this month due to some non-modeling issues. So, three group builds and a possible rollover GB,I am “stomping in the gates” to get running. I’ve got 2 Scooters going right now, but, those aren’t for any group build.

Rex, I thought LTV intercepted Mac’s drawings when they were on the way to the Navy and “modified” them, thinking “The Navy won’t buy anything that ugly”…

Stik, my 2nd build will be the Monogram “COP OUT” Plymouth Duster dragster

Stick, I’d like to join this thing of ours. First kit a classic P-6 Hawk, in the Snow Owl scheme. Complete with Starfighter Decals resin cockpit and photo etch rigging. The second I don’t know yet. Perhaps I’ll become a made man this time around. Has anyone heard from Hans recently?
