MONOGRAM MAFIA II GB

OWL…might be just me but can`t see your pix…says they were moved or deleted…photobucket…?

Got some pilots painted up and seated into one of the Eagles. The other one is being built as if it were parked.

Are they fixed now?

Yes Ma`am…funny thing is they show up in your original post now but not in my reply post??? Some thing goofy going on around here…prolly my computer acting up again.

BTW…very nice job on your Blackbird…[Y]

I went back and replaced the pics, so thats probably why they show in my post now!

And thanks! [:)]

Hey All,

Just about done with my Kingfisher. Tried a weathering technique that I borrowed from another forum member, whos name eludes me at the moment...hes doing a P-38 in Rex Barbers livery in Aircraft. I used X-19 Smoke, Tamiya light grey and medium blue and streaked the entire model in direction of airflow by rapid, continuous passes. Mine is nowhere near as nice as the other guy(sorry) job but I think it gets the point across…

…tough to see but it`s supposed to be subtle…

That circle is a landing light that I forgot to put in before closing the wing so I used Testor`s window maker…gotta hit it again…

I think its not too bad for a first attempt. Im definately liking the idea but have to work on mixing paints, what air pressure to spray at, etc. Going to try to finish up tomorrow. Comments, as always, are welcome and thanks for looking!

Owl and Trouble… ! nice looking "birds’ ! [t$t]

Thanks P38! Im calling it done. Heres a bunch `o pix…Hammer…use whatever one you like for front page…

Well, thats it for this one. I picked up a Revellogram P-47 Razorback for $8 at Michaels and a P-61 for $11 at A.C. Moores…gotta love those coupons. I`m thinking about adding the T-bolt, not much to the kit but should be a fun little build. Thanks for looking and all the encouraging comments!

Wow… Some good stuff happenin’ while I was gone…

Actually been home for a few days now, but lots of pain and not as many drugs as I think I need… Doc didn’t want me to have to little pain, said something about “masking the paint”, though maybe he found out I was a modeler … Now I know he meant that too strong a pain-killer would “mask the the pain”, and I’d get up and start dooin’ stuff I wasn’t supposed to do yet, like try to walk…

Nurse Goodbody was a doll, and really nice, even when I wasn’t (which was all the time), but by the time it was time for my first sponge-bath, I thought I’d won her over, lol…

Turns out I didn’t, as I got Nurse Ratched, who washed m’ legs & feet rather roughly after throwin’ a wash-rag at me and tell me to do my own naughty bits…

I gotta admit though, be able to self-medicate with a PCA the first night was a real plus… Every eight minutes I could get a blast…

Sad to see it go, lol…

Great models everyone. Wish I had time to get on the Phantom Mustang, but it’s in a stall. Renovating a house and wearing tools Friday night through Sunday.

Owl, the program lost a pair of airframes when a drone pitched down on launch.

Great piece of history.

There’s an older member of this forum named Darwin who maintained 71’s and other various projects out of Kadena. Miss him.

I can see one… The rest are “Moved or Deleted”…

wait–does that mean only one photo is showing, or that the pics only show on the first post? They are showing up fine for me on my edited post…

Haven’t posted a WIP in a while, busy closing on a house, getting ready for a wedding, and all of lifes other distractions!

Paint is done on the F-101, just waiting for it to cure, then will be painting the nose and engine area, then Future, then decals, then more Future, then done!

All the photos in your post are showing now and that bird looks great. Maybe I’ll have to dig the one I have out of the back of the closet.

Sweet build Miss Owl I do like the way the future shaded the black [Y][Y] Never knew the plane also flew with a drone on top of it interesting.

Its been a while but I have a small update to offer, got the rear end in the sprint car. Still need to add torsion arms and shocks, but scratch building takes time for me. Although the brakes and bird cages are PE.

Well my first of two builds is complete. This is a F-101B Voodoo, of the NY Air National Guard. I used airbrushed MM enamels, and hand brushed Tamiya acrylics, along with aftermarket decals and Eduard mask. Just noticed I somehow smudged the paint on the tail, have to fix that tomorrow.

Sweet lookin Voo-Doo Jailcop! What did you think about the kit? I have one in the stash and was thinking about starting it...curious if theres any major issues with it.

thanks Vetteman. The drone thing was a fairly short lived experiment thing. I thought it looked cool, and figured my brother might like it as well (and the playboy decals, he got a kick out of those! lol)

Oh and is it just my eyes deceiving me or is the right tire wider than the left?

Your eyes are just fine Miss Owl [:D] The right rear on a sprint is wider and taller, than the left rear they run a bunch of stagger so the car will want to turn. Usually 12 to 18 inches of stagger, you will also notice an offset to the right. Heres a link to a video of the sprints I watch here, non wing of course. Dont like the WOO cars, silly sprint cars wings are for airplanes.

Oh, I see. Thanks for sharing!
