Monogram Flak Panzer

Quite possibly the first armor kit I ever built, back in the day. But yours somehow looks much more impressive, without the tube glue smears and the shiny gloss paint. [:D]

But, seriously, that’s a cracker of a job on that great old kit. Well done, that man! [Y][B]

Thanks!back in 75 when I first built this kit we kids didn’t know what an airbrush was and the only paints were the gloss Testors square bottles!

Sounds like we’re of a similar vintage! [t$t]

Yep going to be 58 in about two weeks!

That turned out great! Oh man, that kit sure brings back a ton of memories. I hope that Atlantis got these molds and will someday release these armor kits again.

That would be cool for sure!

Looks cool! Like the camo!

I saw those in stores way back when but never bought one. My first armour kit in a somewhat similar scale was Italeri in '87 or so. (This was 1/32nd or so right???)

You might try taking photos like Gino commented for less clutter in the background. I use a white sheet or posterboard for a lot of mine.

Yes I have heard that before, and might invest in some white foam core as a back drop.

Great job! Did it come with the Shep Paine diorama insert?

I cut my teeth on the old Airfix HO scale Panther, then graduated to the Aurora 1/48 armor kits in the early '60s. I was ten years older. I’m 68 now.

Yes it did!really was a high light if the kit presentation.

Those old Aurora kits had some good vehicles other comapnies just didn’t have. I remember the Stalin, the big tractor for the 155mm gun, and their Sherman was especially nice. I also liked the tracked cargo vehicle with the plow and wooden stake sides.

When the Monogram tanks came out I though they were very nice kits and built all of them. I wish I still had them but my Mother gave away all my models and other things while I was overseas on my first tour during Vietnam. No explanation and I was out a lot of kits as well as other things that ended up valuable collector items.

I know. I wish I had the baseball card collection that she threw away when I was transferred away, Oh, well . . .
