Monogram EA-6B 1/48/Black Box Resin Cockpit set

I have just ordered the above as I love the Prowler and wondered if anyone had experience on this kit, bear in mind I am just completing my first model in 20 years so the skills are not of the highest standard(yet [;)] )

Just wanted to know the usual really, fit, ease of build, accuracy etc… I am also considering getting the wingfold resin set and if I do I may save this one in the stash for a while or untill my hacking and filling tecniques improve. Would this be wise?

Also wanted to say I am enjoying the forum very much and have put to good use the tips I have been given already, my Spitfire project is looking far better than it would without you guys.

The grey/gray areas on the fusilage are in readyness for invasion stripe decals (for those who have not read my post in the airbrush section.)

Sand, sand and sand. It helps to have a Dremel tool too, but the black box set is the only way to go for a EA-6B. Did you get the wing fold kit? Now that looks like some work.

I am considering the wing fold kit but if I do go for it the whole project will be relegated for a while untill I feel ready to slice those wing mouldings up. When you say sand, sand and sand I presume you mean the fusilage is a little ‘out’, I have however half made a Tamiya 1/48 A-10 and I still see the green dust from sanding that bad boy in the Dyson!

No, the cockpit I had to sand and grind on. I did some on the fusilage too, when the cockpit was thin but not too much. It took me abut a week to get it in, but I was flying at night when I made my EA-6B. So I did not have much time to work on it with work and the Wife and rug rats. I but Marine decals on the one I did. It came out nice. I’ll get some pics up some time, when I have the time!!!

Great, it would be nice to see some photos thanks.
