just wondering has any body used this for thining enamels for airbrushing? its says on the back of the bottle 100% mineral spirits. i know it cleans my brushes real goods but when i try to use it for thinging model master enamels it seems to wants to gum up on me and makes it not to good for airbrushing. also what do you use for thing model master enamel paints for airbrushig thanks rob [:D][:D]
I’ve only used it to thin out my artists oils for washes. It works great for that. I don’t paint much at all with enamels, I’m an acyrilics guy right now. Sorry.
Actually, 100% mineral spirits are perfect for airbrushing enamels, and will do a great job cleaning your airbrush and for performing enamel washes. I’ve not heard of Mona Lisa spirits, but if it has 100% mineral spirits, you should be OK.
I find the BEST thinner for MM enamels is MM airbrush thinner in the black can. It’s hotter than straight mineral spirits, meaning it’s more volatile and will dry a little faster and possibly go through your airbrush a little better than the mineral spirits you buy at the local hardware store.
Is this the stuff you’re referring to?
