I scratched the window part of my kit, now thinking about ordering part from the dealer. This is a 1/12 scale nissan skyline GT-R kit from Fujimi. And I think it’s scratched quite deep as well, not just i scratch, many, multiple kind of plastic scratch from the paper towel.
Now I’m thinking, what if I try to mold a new one out of thin lexan? Only the front windshield need to be remolded, it’ll give a scale feel of how thin a glass is at 1/12 scale.
So I’m wondering right now, how high should I set the oven at to make the lexan confirm to the surface?
the clear part itself measures as 3" x 6", so a candle light heating won’t do the trick.

It might be easier, cheaper, and less heartache to polish out the scratches. Forming hot plastic sheet at home is far more difficult than it sounds. Forming the hot plastic over the original windscreen can melt and bend the original screen, and then there’s the specks of dust that could ruin the attempt - do you hear the voice of experience here?
Try getting some 2000 grit wet and dry sand paper, cut a piece into 2 inch squares and soak them in water for 24 hours. Then carefully sand the scratches using plenty of water, inspecting often. when you’ve gotten to about the level of the deepest scratch, start polishing with a very good quality fine grade polish (I use Meguiars) on a very soft rag like flannel, then move to an even finer polish. Once the scratches are pretty well gone, dip the screen in Future floor polish, let the excess drip off, then allow to dry covered to keep off dust, and your problem should be solved.
