I have wanted a model of this vehicle since I first saw it when I was a wee lad - preferrably to run DR. Smith over with! (Just kidding!)
Anyway the kit was worth the wait. Nice detail, easy assembly, and comes with the robot, too!
The top half is probably the best clear molding I have ever seen in a kit-perfectly clear and distortion free. Fits well, too. My only beef would be the instructions-mostly text with a few photos of work-in-progress parts. I really prefer instructions with "part A goes in slot B " with arrows pointing the way. Less likely to hear cries of “Danger Will Robinson” when I place a part in the wrong spot!
Love it! I was looking at the kit and pondering wether to buy it. You have made up my mind! The kit looks awesome! And yes, the Chariot would be best seen as Major West chasing down Smith!
Very nice job! I too have been thinking of getting this kit. It’s nice to see someone else who has forked over the cash first, so I don’t have too buy it sight unseen. This would look really nice on a bit of planetscape based on the first season sets. Can you tell me, scale-wise, how it compares to the Polar Lights Jupiter 2? Might make a nice side by side pair if the scale is correct.
Bivouac: the scale is 1/24 so I doubt the Jupiter2 is that big! However, the Space Pod that was in the series is also available (from Moebius) in 1/24. I know 'cause I have that one as well. I thought I might tackle my first diorama with the two kits.
Unless I’m mistaken me and that bivouac guy have been watching a lot of L.I.S lately and I must concur its a lovely Chariot you built. But I’d just pee myself if I could find a large scale figure kit of the “Bloop”.
