I could use some help (and pictures too) on the following.
I want to detail the flight deck edge catwalks a bit more on my TAMIYA 1/350 Enterprise CVN-65 carrier. I have a bunch of questions and need answers if anybody can help.
-
For anybody who has built the Enterprise kit, Is the placement of all the hose reels along the flight deck edges correct or should some hose reels be moved, removed, or more added? I’m assuming these are all refueling hose reels and not firefighting hose reels.
-
Does anybody have pictures of what the refueling catwalk stations on a modern US carrier look like? The more detail, the better.
-
In this first picture below which I screen grabbed off the Net, a carrier seems to have an average of 22+/- firefighting hose stations around the circumference of the carrier. I’m guessing the rectangle symbol is for the 1.5" inch AFFF hose reel stations, while the black diamond shaped symbol is for the 2.5" hose mounted racks. Would the hose mounted racks be similar to the orange/red hoses and racks seen on Arleigh Burke class destroyers or other US Navy ships? Also, does anybody have better pictures of what the catwalk firefighting stations and hose reels look like?
- In this below pic, I’m assuming the red arrow pointing to the green hose reel is for the AFFF foam. The two grey hose reels in front are for refueling purposes? Also, all carriers have white bumpers (for lack of a better term) along the flight deck edges. The two red arrows point to colored marks on that white bumper. The green would be for the AFFF hose reel. The red mark would be for other hose or extinguisher station. Refueling hose reel stations get a purple mark. Are there any other colored marks that I should know about? Blue? Yellow?
