#1. Does anyone know what company makes a model of the truck in the photo in the link below (“5-ton Truck”). I want one with dual wheeled rear axles. I think Italeri has one, but its rear axles are single wheeled. Preferably 1/35 scale…err, only 1/35 scale.
#2. Has anyone built the Italeri 5-ton truck (single-wheeled rear axles)? Are there any major building challenges. I want to make it as shown in the other link below this paragraph. I would like to use this as 1/35 kit as a pattern to make a large 1/6 or so R/C version for use around the garden!!!
First one, below is the Italeri M925 truck. It used to come w/o the shelter and had the softtop included. Now it just comes with the shelter, and a hard top for the cab, troop seats for bed are still included.
Looks like he added the ring mount from the M923A1 kit to the M925 kit with dual rear wheels and replaced the weak Italeri .50 cal with a nice one. It could be the M923A1kit with the Bigfoot tires replaced with resin tires to get the dual rear tires as well. His tires look better than the Italeri ones.
Italeri M925
Italeri M923A1
Second one is the Italeri M923A1 with larger Bigfoot, single rear tires. Both are the same basic kit with a sprue changed out to give you the six Bigfoot tires, ring mount and .50 cal, and cargo bed and cab softtops included. They are not horrible kits, and do come out nicely when completed. There are some shortcomings in some of the parts under the chasis, but no real issues. The bigfoot tires have an incorrect profile and are undersized as well.
[:D] i have built the bigfoot 5 ton truck,it went pretty good, just have to mack sure the frame is glued strait, you can see my finished kit on my web site.
Yeah, I’m in the process (long, drawn out process, it seems) of turning the M923 Bigfoot into a convoy escort guntruck. The kit parts went together pretty well as I remember it.
I’m hoping a company out there will make a kit of the new 7 ton MTVRs in the inventory.
i bet you’re gonna think i’m extremely stupid, but can you give me a link to your site in the post? i can’t seem to see the thing in the lower right hand corner.
