Models, Inc. Group Build 2022 (Join If You Dare)

This year, your ingenuity gets put to the test. If you have ever watched the Food Channel show Chopped, you’ll know that competing chefs get to make meals which must include at least four specially chosen, mandatory ingredients no matter what dish each individual chef chooses to make. These ingredients may be hard to work with or easy; but either way, they must be incorporated into the dishes. In this group build, we will model in a similar manner! Here’s how:

In this GB, three “ingredients” (see I’m going easy on y’all and not doing four) will be selected by myself and the first two brave souls who will dare to join this GB by volunteering in the comments below. After this is done, all modelers in this group build MUST incorporate the three selected ingredients into their models and/or dioramas somehow.

So, what specifically do I mean by ingredients? Unlike in Chopped, the ingredients aren’t necessarily edible. What I mean by “ingredients” is certain elements that must be included in our builds. These elements could include things as easy as a specific color (i.e.-red), things as unique as to come from elsewhere than the modeling table (i.e.-something from your backyard), or things as difficult a specific animal. [I know not all specific animals are difficult, but they can be! One forum member suggested an octopus!] Let me know if you have any questions about the build. Ok, time for the:

GROUND RULES-

-No foul/rude behavior or words, of course

-No scantily or not-at-all clad women on models & No distasteful “elements”

-All models and/or dioramas entered must conform to the requirements and theme of the group build description; in this case, they must have ALL the selected “elements” incorporated into them

-Crossovers Allowed

-Group build begins January 1, 2022, and runs through December 31, 2022. Eager to start? Knock yourself out and start in December 2021. It’s ok.

Lol Awesome! I’ll get you on the roster!

As you are the first victim to volunteer, you get to choose one of the “ingredients”! Let me know what it will be!

I’m in!!!

Unless you guys come up with some ingredients I can’t work with!!! But I’m pretty flexible. [:P]

[snWcm], Gamera! At least you get to pick the third and final ingredient! Let me know what you’d like it to be!

I have selected the first requirement:

Red, but not via a decal.

Have either of y’all decided the next ingredients?

Since the GB is now safe from my monkeyshines in selecting an ingredient, I will also throw in. At least we won’t have to include an octopus theme! [:P]

Ah, there you are! Glad you jumped on board! We’ll see what happens to that octopus…

I’ve got you added to the roster!

Sorry, on vacation/holiday and have been neglecting the forum… [:$]

I want to say TURTLES but I’ll try to think of something more practical…

No worries, Gamera! I hope you’re enjoying your vacation.

If turtles is what you want, turtles you can get!!! Lol

Gotta love reptiles! I’ve got a gecko–Ira. At least you didn’t pick “gecko”…That would be really hard! [H]

Lol, I’ve been thinking about it. I’ll come up with something.

UHF - Wheel Of Fish - YouTube

Oh ~ Red Snapper! Berry tasty! [:P]

Can I go with the contents of the box as an ingredient???

[;)]

Lol!

Painting and detailing the contents would be interesting effort.[;)]

I’m thinking poison dart frog but haven’t made up my mind yet. Talk about colorful and camouflaged and dangerous!

How would I do that?! [:O] [:S]

lol haven’t thought that far yet [:D] but the guys came up with some crazy stuuff for octopus so i figure just brainstorm an go with it. Now you’ve got me thinking, how about that crazy german dot camouflage they used on tanks?

this is gonna be fun just coming up with ingredients! Great idea [I]
