Hi everyone!
I am starting my second scale model project, the Jagdpanzer Marder I, a german tank destroyer used during the second world war II.
Oh cool! Looking forward to more! [Y]
Well. It wont be easy
O, nice, thats a very new kit and good to see this variant. Its Tamiya, you should have no problem. If you want not easy, try a Dragon [;)]
The number of parts stress me a little bit because I am a beginner. My fear is mostly directed toward the tracks. From my point of view, it seems way harder to build than the little airplane I began a few days ago.
Tamiya kits are very good kits for beginners. They go together very smoothly with little to no fit issues and they don’t have an insane amount of parts. From what I have seen this kit only has about 250 parts. My advice would be to take it slow ask questions and try not to lose any parts to the dreaded carpet monster.
This is one of their newer kits and highly thought of. You should have a good time, although I tend to avoid open topped armor because of the extra detailing you need to do on the inside. To me it’s just easier to glue hatches closed on a tank!
Lol Bish you took the words out of my mouth. Tamiya falls together out of the box, good details and great fit. Dragon is a bit more complex with a large parts count but still a nice kit.
Yeah as the guys said Tamiya makes some of the best engineered kits out there.
Just take it slow and make sure to study the directions before you start cutting parts off the sprue and cementing them together. You shouldn’t have too much of a problem.
And be sure to ask if you do need any help, we’ve all been where you are!
That’s a very nice kit that just came out last year. Here is a video on building and painting the kit if you are interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfhaXGaZxR4&t=1455s
