I have been painting my builds with Model Masters enamels since I got into airbrushing, but without priming. I’ve never had a problem with adherance with my paints. I just wanted to try priming to see if there is a difference with the finishes. I have heard that there is a MM primer but I’ve not been able to locate this item. Can anyone lead me in the right direction here? Is there another primer that is compatable with MM enamels?

I have shot it over Tamiya and Model Master Spray bomb with no ill effects.
As long as your primer is completely dried and cured, you should have no ill effects from MM enamels. I can say the same for their acrylics. If you do multi media builds- brass, resin, etc, the primer coat will help.
I use Testors to Prime and usually let it cure for atleast a day if not longer before i spray and I allways use MM.
I use a rattle can of Krylon Flat Black or red/brown Primer. It “bites” the plastic well. I’ve used MM paints on my last four builds and not had a problem. [:D]
I have used both automotive primers from auto parts stores, an Krylon primer from hardware and crafts stores with MM enamel. Both have worked fine. Auto primers can take almost any finish over them.
