Mobelwagen

Ive started on a Mobelwagen, which im going to base on the photo in the book German Military Vehicles by David Doyle.

The photo shows it in a solid yellow scheme, not camo. Also the photos show the extra track links painted the same color as the vehicle. Looks to me like the vehicle was painted after the extra track links were added.

Keep us posted on the build. I recently bought the kit with some Eduard PE for extra fun. The kit looks a lot better built than the old Tamiya IVD that I’m currently working (a.k.a. stalled) on.

which one are you building?

The 3.7cm FlaK or the 2cm Flakvierling?

The 2cm I tried years ago had the same chassis problems as the mentionned Panzer IV D.

However, the 3.7cm looks better engeneered.

It is the 3.7cm version. I think it came out a few years back (like 4 years).

The one im doing is the 3.7. I also have the Eduard PE. For when the time comes

Does anybody have a suggestion for a track upgrade?

I don’t think that the Tamiya 3.7cm Mobelwagen REALLY needs a track upgrade. Many were built on the later Pz IV chasses so didn’t have the open guide horn. And the sagging tracks were as likely not to be seen as seen on Pz IVs. IMHO, the kit’s vinyl ones are good.

If you must, then go to your favorite LHS or online seller and look for Friulmodel or Modelkasten.
