Mk 20 Rockeye Problem, Help!

After doing some research on my F-4J Phantom, I read that Showtime 100 carried six Mk 20 Rockeye cluster bombs on TER’s when they attacked the Hai Doung rail yards. Now here is my problem… I dont have Rockeye bombs and the bombs the kit comes with are Mk82’s or 83’s with the 3" fuse extention which are inacurate munitions for the mission they flew May 10th, 1972.

I have a Hasegawa weapons set: C (1/48 scale) and I would like to know if there is any way to convert the Maverick missiles into Rockeyes. The set comes with six Mavericks. I know I am going to have to so some cutting and want to know how to make them look like Rockeye bombs. The Mavericks are about the same size at the Rockeyes. I really dont want to spend $40.00 for 3 sets of resin cluster bombs and hope there is an easy way to do this.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated!

I think Hasegawa’s weapons set A has the Rockeyes you need. That’s the one I used to arm my USMC A-10W. There should be six of them in the set.

I’d think you’d be able to modify whatever you have on hand, but it’d be a lot of work.

Rand, Rockeye’s were in all sorts of Monogram kits. A-10’s, A-6’s and a couple others I think. The gave them out like candy. Snoop through your stash. If you need, I have some from a parts bound A-10. Drop me an email.

Thanks for the advice Jello.
