Hello everyone. As I was looking at my 1/32 scale trump hellcat …I found the extra p-51-II fuselage clear part that came with a nother trumpeter kit .I have the old revell p51b (Berlin Express) kit …I’m poundering of replacing the revell fuselage with the trumpeter p-51-II (clear) sense it has better detail …also I saved the Merlin engine and mounts …tank .guns …may be a great adventure!
Sure, it’s called kit-bashing! A lot of modelers do it.
Unlike what you might think “kit-bashing” means from reading some forums (I’m looking at you, Hyperscale!), it’s taking parts from different kits, and “bashing” them together, either to make an improved model of the same subject, or even to make something that’s completely different.
What the modelers at Industrial Light & Magic did to make the vehicles in “Star Wars” was kit-bashing.
You’ll hear someone refer to his model or project as a kit-bash.
