Some of you guys might remember Don Stauffer,he a few different handles over the years, but his latest was Missleman2000.I thought that I havent seen any posts from him in awhile, seems he passed in 11/25,I found this.He ws a great contributer and very helpful.
So sad to hear that. Don was a great modeler and really good guy. Best wishes to his familly.
I’m very sorry to learn he passed. Together with John Eaton he was one of the forums most distinguished members. He will be missed.
Wow… and not a good wow. Like Gary said, he and John were two distinguished longtime forum members here. Don’s presence here will truly be missed.
Rest in peace, Don Stauffer.
That is sad news… I have valued his input on these forums very high.
Well that’s sad news, RIP buddy.
It’s always sad when someone you knew for so long, even just by mail or e-mail, or as in forums like these, saw their work, knew their skills and their tastes in modeling suddenly disappears from the horizon. In the modeling word I never experienced it, but in my former life as a stage actor and director there have been many such cases. Probably the most tragic ones were losing Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa) and René Auberjonois (Odo, Deep Space Nine) and this so abruptly that when I received the news from their assistants I was simply shocked. Both passed away so suddenly leaving our regular communications open into nothingness that to me it felt as if a distant sister and a brother had left me.
So I do understand indeed what some of you must be feeling after years of having followed Don Stauffer’s work and communicated with him on so many subjects.
Quite frankly I do not feel like contributing to his obituary since I feel that being a newbie here, it is not my place to do so, but I do respect and admire the feeling some of you must have right now.
May he rest in peace and fly higher than ever in the vastness and splendor of our universe.
