Mil MI-2 Hoplite query

I recently picked up a limited run 1/72 kit of a Mil MI-2 Hoplite and the instructions have left me with a question.

When the type was fitted with both external fuel tanks, was there some asymetry to how they fit on the aircraft? was one further forward than the other?
I’ve seen pictures of this type with just one tank and with two, but the pictures I’ve seen of the ones with two don’t give a clear indication of their exact locations.

The kit is by Aero Team, if you’re familiar with the kit, I’m trying to build the Czech Police version and its the painting guide in the instructions thats leading me to ask the question. It gives no overhead view of the bird at all, and there seems to be some differences in how the paint scheme goes down on each side.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, the tank positions and mountings are both asymmetrical. The portside tank is moved forward to allow clearance for the troop cabin door.

Note the position of the mounting bands around the tanks!!

Thanks,

I’ve been looking at pics on the net and found a couple of shots of Czech police Hoplites and they don’t have tanks, so I’ve decided to leave them off. I’ve also found their shape to be somewhat questionable.

I picked up a resin interior for it the other day, so I’m strongly considering opening some doors on it to better show the nice resin

Thanks for the help, I’ll bear it in mind if I build a Hoplite again.
