Mig-29 and F-15 questions

  1. For those of you who have built Soviet Air Force Mig-29’s, what color did you paint the wheelwells?? I can’t seem to find any reference for this.

  2. Does anyone know if there are aftermarket decals for a 1/48 F-15A Eagle in the old air superiority blue scheme? I can’t even find air superiority blue paint (FS 15450). At least, Model Master doesn’t produce it…Maybe some other company does?

Can’t help you with the F-15 question, but in my observations, most of the wheel wells in Socialist air force aircraft, regardless of country, were the same as the rest of the aircraft underside.

I saw a Slovak air force MiG-29 not long ago at an airshow and its wheel wells were the same colour as the rest of the aircraft underside.

Lifecolor do the paint you need for the F-15, I found it online here.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Now, if I can just find those decals. I’m wondering if there was a 1/48 F-15 kit released around the time the F-15’s wore the air superiority blue scheme (I’m guessing 1975-76 timeframe). I had a 1/72 kit in AS blue when I was a kid.

The original issue of the Revell [not Monogram] F-15 had markings for the streak eagle and an air superiority blue aircraft.
