Mig-21 cockpit green colour

I am building a 1/48 Academy Mig-21 MF. I could never found out the correct colour for the cockpit. Anybody can give me a good tip about what colour to use. I usually use enamel paint.

Thanks for your help

Rene

Model Master enamel has russian interior blue-green #2135 in it’s MM2 line. You should have little problem finding it in on-line shops or if they are carried at your local shops.

Modern Russian interior Blue-green is available directly from Testors (Testors.com). Also available are a full line of modern Russian colors.

Just an asside, have you seen the new Eduard MiG-21MF? Far superior to the Academy bird. Might be one of the best engineered kits currently on the market.

I think the name of the color is “USSR Interior Blue-Green” if I remember correctly. I used to have a bottle back when I built my MiG-21 about ten years ago, but never really touched it since and it finally dried in the bottle a few years ago, so I can’t check the color name for sure.

The model master color is not even close to the color used in the factory Mig 21 tubs… The best mixed color is made by AKAN paint… called Emerald Green, a good substitute is taking Gunze Emerald Green and mixing it 1:1 with Gunze sky blue… PS the Eduard tub fits in the Academy bird with a luittle modification

I found the Model Master too saturated when I built my PF a few months ago. I opted for Vallejo Esmeralda 70838 which I mixed 50/50 with Acryl Aqua 1330 square bottle.
