Which MIG-15 kit can you recommend in 1/48 scale? Revell , Trumepter or Tamiya?
Thanks

I can’t speak for the Trumpeter kit, but if it came down to Tamiya and Revell I’d say go for either, but the Tamiya kit will be less work.
If you’re looking at a 1/48 MiG-15 in Revell boxing, it’s probably the older Monogram kit from the late 70s or early 80s. If it is that kit, then its not a bad kit; but be ready to rescribe raised panel lines and find some aftermarket for the cockpit.
By the way, I have seen the old Monogram kit build up so well that it took better spots at contests than the Tamiya one did.
The Trumpeter kit is a real gem. Can’t wait to get started on it, now I’ve opened the box
The Revell kit is the Monogram kit re-boxed. It’s OK by early 1970s standards, but not by today’s. The Tamiya kit set new standards for 1/48 fighters when it first came out in the mid 1990s, and is still excellent. I have one on the shelf, and one in the stash, and assorted decals and resin control surfaces. It’s the one to get, for sure.
The clear plastic and chrome plated versions are a bit gimmicky; the original issue is best, and has the best decals. Here’s a review of the chrome-plated version:

Mind you, the clear fuselage version is good value, in the UK at least, at £19.99 - Tamiya prices here have come down quite a bit in recent months.
The Trumpeter kit is nice, too, especially in terms of engine and cockpit detail, but it’s questionable if it’s worth the extra money, compared to the Tamiya kit.
Cheers,
Chris.
I have built the Monogram kit and Tamiya kit. As far as quality goes, the Tamiya kit is best. I have built two of them and both went together with no problems. Go with Tamiya.
I prefer the Tamiya kit, but it’s been hard to find for a while. It may be OOP at this time. The Trumpeter kit is OK, but has some fit issues.
