Mid-Engine El Camino Trans Am Racer

Hey-

Just finished this. I was building another Trans Am race car and the thought occured that a mid-engine El Camino would be really different. So I combined both projects into this one. I added the drivetrain from an Accurate Miniatures McLaren M8B to an AMT '68 El Camino. It was a pretty tight fit to get it all lined up, but I’m pretty happy with the results.

Thanks for looking,

Phil

interesting subject, and you’ve put a lot of effort in it. reminds me of super sedan category in australia which had ‘liberal’ modification laws, that saw cars like a VW type 3 with a chevy v8 engine.

May I, or better yet, dare I ask what happened to the rest of the M8B?

It’s in the box, on the shelf with the other partial kits. Anyone want the remains?

Phil

Sacrilegious, but very cool! [tup]

Phil,

You did a good job and it’s a cool truck. I understand about the remains of the kit, I have three of them in the stash-mocking me. Why do I have three you ask (one of each)? Got 'em for 10.00 apiece at the Dallas Nats in 2000 from the Accurate Miniatures guys. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
