Hi Folks,
Just wondering if there are any other owners/users of the MicroMark home photo etch system out there? Is there a forum or group of users to share tips, techniques, etc? I have searched here and on Facebook. I purchased my system about 6 years ago. I was pretty happy with my first couple etches! It was packed away for a move, and only recently unpacked. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I bought one too, about 2 years ago. Never used it yet. Tried copying some existing PE helicopter rotors on my copier/printer to do the artwork, but wasn’t successful. Sure could use some advice.

I have used mine, but it is a lot of work. I have only used it for two kits or scratch projects in the five or six years I have had it. I am looking for an easier way to make PE. I have tried the toner transfer system. It works for larger pieces, but the ironing caused some movement of sheet, which caused some blurring of edges. I am considering one of those boards with short dowels sticking up, like they use with silk screening. Matching holes in the toner transfer paper might hold it in place well enough.
I came across this home PE walkthrough a few weeks back on britmodeler, it doesn’t look like it’s super difficult but it does look time consuming. I’ll post the link below, not sure if linking to other forums violates any rules but here you go.

Thanks for posting. I’ve got the kit, but never made it past the “artwork” stage. I’ll try scanning the parts I need and printing the scan on the film. EJ
