Metalizer Sealing

Any advice on how to seal a metalizer on the bottom of the fuselage of a 747 1/144 scale?

First, welcome to the forums![#welcome]

I’ve used Testor’s Metalizer Sealer before; however, this was just for small areas such as exhausts. Metalizers are notoriously difficult to handle and care for, so I don’t know how this sealer would work for a larger surface like you are dealing with. I’m sure somebody else will have good suggestions.

It is an apparently unsolvable problem for me, using Testor’s Metalizers, carefully finding a way to mask and buff adjacent panels without ruining the ones next to it, and finally, when that plane is the perfect miniature of a bare metal a/c, missing only a tiny flesh-and-blood crew chief, you spray on the junk and it all turns the same color with no sheen to speak of. Ach! Every few years someone comes along with a solution, and the popular one now is Alclad. Maybe it really is this time.

Welcome to the Forum [#welcome]. Which brand of Metalizer are you trying to seal ?
