g’day from downunder.,
my first time posting here so if it’s not permitted feel free to remove., but i recently discovered i’m missing metal axle pins for several of my revell model kits, so i’m just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to find some replacement parts, i tried the revell website, but cant get it to load, i also tried model shops, but they’re getting harder to find as well, most are closing their doors, so i’m kind of stuck with ordering overseas, alternatively what can i use instead of these pins, i would rather not have to pay 100’s of dollars in postage(that on it’s own is getting rediculous - price gouging etc) for something so small,
any advice offered would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Welcome to the forum!
A visit to a hardware store might prove successful.
If for a static model a screw in the same shape and size is worth considering - with a RC model the thread can cause problems.
My go to for odd things is McMaster.com. Here are 3 searches that may help with the parts you need. You will have to modify them by cutting them shorter or in the case of the screws you may have to file the heads down a bit. The screws can of course be bought locally.
thanks for the responses everyone, actually last night as i was heading to bed, i had an epiphany, i was wondering whether small nails would solve the problem, small screws would work too, as they’re only going behind glass, ie static models not radio control, i’ve never been a fan of of RC, so i’ll definitely look into those links posted as well, thanks everyone.
