I would like to pay tribute toall the men and women of the USAAF who gave their lives for our freedom.
Masu,
I’ll join you in that Salute! My namesake, Melvin Mollberg, died in the crash of C-47 in the “Hidden Valley” of New Guinea on Mothers Day 1945. Last year I met his surving oldest sister and other family members at thier Family Reunion. One of the items they gave me was a Certificate of Honor recognizing his sacrifice for his country. It was signed by Gen Hap Arnold.
Amen to that, but lets also honor those who served and lived to tell about it.
amen to that. for those who died and those who survived. a toast.

Just as a suggestion, if you want to really pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country gather up a bunch of volunteers and do a clean up at your local veterans cemetary. There is one in just about every county in every State in the U.S. There is not enough money budgeted to maintain them properly. I guess we know what the U.S. comgressmen and women thing of veterans!
Most of the cemetaries I have seen in the U.S are so bad that it brings me to tears. These men and women deserve better. And now that there are going to be, and are, fresh graves, please don’t let the families of the recently fallen see their final resting place looking like a pig sty.
If you want to help, contact your local AmVets, VFW, Marine Corps League, and or any other veterans organization and lend a hand. rangerj
bottoms up and a big thank you
Thank you!!
There are 2 types of HEROs, the ones whom go off to fight and those who stay behind waiting for those who gone to the fight ( their FAMILY MEMBERS ), it’s expected for the ones that fought become heros but everyone forgets the ones who are at home sacraficing on maintaining the home life, kids, bills, house, car, etc…now those are the true heros, they have to wait for word good or bad of their loved ones off fighting for the country not knowing whats happening to them but they have to plug through the day with this burdon over their heads, now that’s a true hero in my book, but everyone forgets them, I know for I’m Married to one, you know when I was off fighting in OEF & OIF I didn’t have to worry about the bills, cars, house because I knew the wife will take care of it, and they don’t get the recognition they dearly deserve, going to a war is a heck of a lot easier then waiting for my spouce to come back from one, because when you do go to war your thoughts are on the objective, job not on the home life because you have a job to do and need to do it for life, love & country but your spouce is worried about you, the kids, bills, cars, house, job and etc…,
yes there are very brave men & women who fought and died in World Wars, and the rest of the conflict in the last 100 years, but in order for you to be a GREAT HERO you must have the GREATEST HERO at home waiting for you
Darn you Cuda, I hate tears in my beer!
I just hate seeing the unsung heroes get the credit to pass them by,
but those folks who fought in WWII did the almost impossible with the equipment they had compaired to the stuff we have today

Just a guy who helped save the world a few decades ago.
hey john p,
cool site![8D]
it’s always nice to honour and pay respects to those who did great deeds by today’s standards, even if at the time time they just ‘got on and did their jobs’ (some jobs!!).
regards,
nick
Hey John;
Now you have the correct last name for a fighter pilot because thats what they hand out is major Payne to their targets, and I must say sorry for your loss last year only the good go young, I lost mine 10 years ago this past Feb, but now whats cooking in the HOUSE OF PAYNE?
Our service men/women should always have our gratitude, support , respect and thanks. The next time you have oppotunity to say thanks or to help out-please do so. In my experience, most veterans are’nt looking for parades or medals they just want our respect and thanks.
Let’s show them how proud we are of them and if you’re so inclined, spare a thought/say a prayer for our troops overseas and their folks at home.
