The Indy 500 and other big car races, picnics, family get togethers, etc are very nice, but let us not forget the REAL reason for Memorial Day.
May our gracious Lord welcome unto Him the souls of our departed heroes and guard, guide and protect those who still serve.

absolutely. As i was at the Indy 500 today, in a way it is a gigantic tribute to our soldiers. There is the flyover of course, but military members were paraded around the track and unfurled an enormous flag during the national anthem. It was great to see all those men and women who do so much for us.

Had our local parade lined up out front waiting to step off…entertained the local firemen…and stood up and saluted a NG color guard as they passed.
