what do you use to measure paint accurately?
I use disposable pipettes as my unit of measure.
I use the good ole mark one eyeball, I find that paints are so variable that trying to use set formulas never work, so I go by sight and feel.
I too use disposable pipettes. For larger amounts I have an assortment of medicine cups. You know the ones that comes with cough syrups, pepto and such.
I agree. You do not need to be that accurate. I use Testors enamel and mix about 1:1, and estimate by eye. If the bottle is old, and thicker because of evaporation from being opened a lot, I’ll add a bit more thinner.
If the paint is a bit too thin, I close down the needle a bit and go a little slower. If it is too thick, I’ll open up a bit. That is with my SA airbrush. With my DA brush, I can adjust with the controls for a thinner or thicker than usual mix.
Yup… Or straws as disposable pipettes, hold thumb over end.
I prefer Vallejo now though, just ‘Shake & drip’ [;)]
