Ah, I see, you meant the landing gear. I thought you meant Hanna and Fritzi [;)]
Seriously…that’s some fantastic scratching, Chuck! Those legs are going great under a coat of paint (and that’s not a reference to the girls, either [:D]
Well done!

Well done!
Thanks, my friends! Sometimes little found items are the way to go- I’m pretty notorious for picking up weird, shiny things from the sidewalk. I have boxes of junk bits, little drawers filled with disassembled lighters (full of cool parts)- even razors have interestingly-shaped components. It’s a mania, what can I say?
Stay tuned for more- and cheers!

Yes sir, no such thing as a non-modeling related item!!!
That’s just amazing work! [:D[
Ahhhhhh!!! Finally able to get my pfenning fix. Thanks Chuk
Aieee! it’s the General! Oh, this can’t be good…
Chuk I think the General would be proud.
Looking good Chuck, a question though about the tailwheel doors. After setting up the masters with the aluminum, why did you not just use these metal pieces? Did Pfennig demand plastic? Just curious,
Vance
Incredible work, Chuck.
Every time I start to feel good about my work, I come here and realize that maybe, I shouldn’t be feeling to good about it.
I was going to ask the same question. Styrene will adhere to aluminum with some CA (try Guerilla glue brand - incredible stuff)
-Fred
Maybe he’s planning on mass-marketing the vac-formed tail wheel doors to pay the bills… he must be skipping work to keep this project going! [:D]
Thanks, guys! I made the doors in styrene to insure a good, solid bond. Plastic welds to plastic, but CA has weak joins and will pop right apart under shear stress. The last thing I want to bugger around with is constantly fixing little bitty parts. On my morning drive I was sudden;t struck by regret of not having make the retration horns in plastic as well, like on the tail surfaces. There’s always next weekend, I guess!
Cheers-
chuk
I can’t say I’m a big fan of re-doing or re-gluing anything either! 'til next time,
Vance
Chuck
Thanks, I too wondered why the last vacuum but ,as usual you makes since.
A second point, your “photo-essay” on vacuum forming has clarified for me, more in those photos , than all the texts I have read to date. [:D[ To know my, as yet, only attempt, while not successful (your second attempt looks VERY similar ) was only that ever famous learning experience. [:D] is a good thing.
Dank sind Sie der König
Chukie-boy!!!
Oh, how you annoy me…Dude, I do some really good work…and you make me look lame…
I think I’m going to have to send the thumb-breakers around to pay you a little “friendly” visit…hmmmmm…
Love your work, Brother…plastic and ink…whatever…is Fritzi seeing anyone at the moment? Can you get me her number?
Great work as always![:D[
When I lived in Van Nuys and used to visit my girlfriend and her folks in Orange County, I used to see the Goodyear blimp quite frequently driving along the 405–either in the air or sitting on its pad by the 405-110 junction.
You guys are NUTS!!
I’ve been working my tail off for the last two weeks and am beat. I’ve gotten a wee bit of modeling in, but not enough to do a real post, so Fritzi has kindly volunteered to model her new shorts. Take strength, oh friends in cold places- spring is coming!
Cheers!
chuk
you kidding Chuk Spring is already here in Da UP! No snow out front with it being in the 50’s daytime and 30’s at night.
Now that’s a nice undercarriage[:D]
Have a nice day
Pawel
Yes sir, the Luftwaffe equipment always had great lines…
Thanks, guys!
I’ve been busy- and distracted- and been screwing up! Fritzi will give you all the grisly details…
