As many of you know I generally have four projects on the table at any given time and have posted plenty of pics for; #1 the 1/48 Do-217 M-11 conversion #2 the ICM 1/48 Yak 7B #3 the Hobbycraft 1/48 S-199 superdetail.
Here are some shots of #4, the Czech Master 1/48 Me-309. The cockpit and gear bays (all three) are all resin.
I added a few sinkers in the nose to keep it on the ground. In this shot note the light bars on the sides of the cockpit, those are the areas that needed sanding for the fuselage to close up. I also built a stop to hold the propeller shaft in place so that the prop could be installed after all other painting was complete.
Even with many fine adjustments with a diamond file I still ended up with a very slight gap right in front of the cockpit that was filled with superglue then sanded smooth.
I still have to putty the wing roots and will have to rescribe a few lines but it is coming along very nicely.
I swear, in the time it takes me to paint and glue a couple 1:72 BMW 801 radials you got a whole aiplane built!
It looks real nice. Do you have an update on your site yet? I’ll have to check. Like I said, it looks nice. Keep up the good work! (I always like the German Luft’ 46 stuff, even if this isn’t strictly it.)
I built that one! (If Czeck Master is the same as Czeck Models). It actually came out okay. I’ve had some Czech Models kit that were real cjallenges in the fit department.
For your interest I have had a Frank Models vacuumform version of this A/C built for about 10 years. Probably not as detailed but a whole lot cheaper and not difficult to build. Anyway your version looks great. The Me 309 makes up into a very good looking A/C.
