ME 262

Could use some help…I remember seing photo’s and tape of early Me 262’s that were just aluminum and primer on panel lines…Any help and ideas how to do this ? Also any other Luftwaffe planes ever show up in this color ?..Tired of splinter camo jobs !!!

Those were the prototypes. The panel seams were filled in with putty to help make the 262 more aerodynamic. It was done on all of them, but obviously the operational ones were overpainted with camo.

Hi Squanderbug,

Someone did an article in either Scale Aviation/Aircraft modeller on the aircraft pictured above using decal strips to simulte the filler. One of the mag`s above publishes a book “Wings of the Luftwaffe” and this may be a start if you can get your hands on a copy. Hope this helps

Thanks for the info back guys…I’m thinking a dulled aluminum as base and who knows. Will try on a couple wrecks first and go from there…
