Does anyone know or have any good suggestion of which colors the Me 262 engine had? I’m building the old 1/32 Revell B-1a/U-1 kit, and the instructions says mouse grey (don’t remember the Revell color number), and on the pics I’ve seen (museum pics) the engine is white/light grey.

These were taken at the US Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AF Base in Dayton, OH. I hope they help, but I know it’s hard to see the exterior colors with all the cut outs. You can see exterior engine colors if you look really closely at the edges of the pics.

Thanks for the very nice pics! Hopefully I can make look like something in the near vincinity [:)]
I’ll show how it turned out later. By looking on the pics it seems like I have to add some parts as well as remove some on the intake and outlet.

Wing-nut,
Where were those pictures taken?

I found these onthe web somewhere a while back. Don’t remember where they are from.
Google Jumo 004 and then clicks Images atthe topof the pagew. There is a jazillion (that’s more than a gozillion… right?) pics.
Thanks for the tip! Somehow it’s easier to find what you’re looking for if you know what you’re looking for, or where to look. [:)]
I found lots of good pics and information about the Jumo 004 engine. If I interpret those pics correctly there’s supposed to be six angled struts holding the outlet cone, that isn’t on the kit. It also seems to sit much further in than on the kit. I’m not a scratch-building artist, but with the PE sets and some minor scratch-building it’ll hopefully turn out looking somewhat better in the end [:)]
