Any difference or are they basically the same with different names? When I sprayed matte coat on my flat paint model it creates this almost semi gloss and wondered if that is on purpose so you can tell that your model is coated.
Also I can’t seem to find the word dullcote on a brush on paint in any craft store where I get my acrylic paint.
Dullcote is the name of the matte varnish by Testors.
Testors has been changing the formulations on their clear coats. They have put out an enamel version, and seem now to be going back to the lacquer. I did think the Enamel matt was a bit less flat than the Dullcoat. Newer cans (lacquer) seem to be back to the old standard, however.
Its probably just me but I’ve always thought of matte as just a bit more glossy than dull.
