I WAS WORKING ON MY P-61 BLACK WIDOW,and i dident have no putty,so i went into the bathroom to get a match,i put the match on the model, only for 2 seconds, like 3 times, and it seamed to work, try it ,and tell me if it works better please,i dont got no putty.thax [^][8D][:)][:I][B)][:(!]
[:D]
ill go try agin, just to make sure,im not going to us a match.im going to try something different, something that cant burn out
Hey panzer,
You used a match to fix a seam?? Man that is kinda taking a plunge in the deep end aint it??[:p] LOL.
I would be affraid to use this just because you could lose detail, leave finger indentations or even worse, warp the plastic. I know I know you passed the match across for only 3 seconds but aaaahhhhh… it just gives me negatives waves man[;)].
That is only me but I prefere to use good ol putty. Anywho please panzer keep us posted on your tests of the match theory!!

I’m with Butz. . . what he said! [#ditto] If you don’t have putty, make some. I sometimes make Sprue Goo. Clip bits of plastic sprue into a glass jar and pour liquid cement in until it is covered. Add additional sprue bits until you have the thickness you like. The seceret to using it is to spread it thin and let it dry completely before adding more. Another option is of course gap filling super glue. Having said that I’m curious to see how your model turns out.[;)]

WHAT IS PLASTIC SPRUGE,KINDA THING
Plastic sprue is the framework that holds all the parts together when you first get it in the box… you cut your parts off the sprue and then glue them together to make your model.
Methyl-ethyl ketone and and toluol (tube glue) work by melting the plastic; when you press the pieces together, they’re essentially welded, and the two parts being glued become one. To make the “putty,” mix a lot of glue with some of the extra plastic like Woody says.
However, I don’t think you can make putty using cyanoacrylate (super glue) because the adhesion mechanism is different.
If you have superglue, you may not NEED putty. That’s why they call it “gap-filling” superglue. ![]()
Thanx John for reminding me, you can also use super glue(it will say “Gap Filler” as John mentioned) and mix baking soda w/ it.
This helps make it easier to sand. If you decide to just use the SG, I’d wait no longer than 5-10 minutes b/c once it is set, you’ll need a belt sander…!!![soapbox].
Hopefully you’ll find a way that you’ll like and will stick w/ it[:D].

i think i know where to get that stuff at,ok,ill make some right now, thax guys
This was a lighted match? Wow.
Have you gotten it figured out panzer striker? The guys have covered the bases pretty well. For the record I like to use Testors liquid cement as my solvent. You can not make putty with super glue. You’ll just end up with a bunch of plastic chunks glued together! LOL
THAX GUYS,i got now,ill just print this page, and ill be better then ever, thax so much, and now,my dad dosent have a melte thing, but he going to get 1 later ,thax guys
