Master Grade Gundam Mk.V

Okay to help out the new Gundam/Mecha subcategory, here is Bandai’s Master Grade Gundam Mark V.

It is one of those annoying/frustrating Pee Bandai exclusives, which it really should NOT be. Bandai does reissue the kit from time to time, but it really is a crime for such a good kit to suffer from limited release.

The subject is a New Desides enemy MS from Gundam Sentinel. The Gundam Mk.V shares a lot in common with the Doven Wolf from ZZ Gundam, so maybe Bandai will do one of those as well. Yeah, but it will probably be another Pee Bandai.

The kit itself is possibly one of the best engineered Master Grade kits I have laid my grubby mitts on, and people out on the internet seem to agree. The fit is top-notch, as is the parts breakdown, color separation, and assembly. Despite being a hulking Mobile Suit, it is reasonably poseable. Not get-down-on-your-knee poseable, but pretty darned good poseable. The kit continues Bandai’s obsession with eliminating polycaps, but the kit joints feel solid and not too loose or too tight.

Here the major components have been dry fitted together, after the snap fit pins and sockets were modified to permit the kit to be disassembled. I caused a little bit of damage to some of the mating surfaces prying the parts apart, so I will need to address them when this project restarts.
