Mass Producing Luftwaffe Bomb Racks- In 1/72.

Due to a huge project, I need to mass produce some of those streamlined Luftwaffe bomb racks in 1/72. Six, actually. Eight, if I’m feeling creative. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on how to ease the pain of doing so.

The actual “meat” of the rack isn’t that much of a problem. I have some thick sprues that can be sanded to shape. The “claws” are the major problem. They’re very tiny, and if you do the math, I think I’m going to end up doing 32 of them. Any opinions?

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go to www.luftarchiv.de and look up the drop weapons page under the Equipment page. They have many pictures, one of which is what I need.

Hmmm… I don’t think there is an “easy way” to do that. Found a cool cockpit photo of the He 111 though on that site for my current project. For that I thank you!

I don’t know how small these are going to be in 1/72, but my guess would be very small…

Option 1: Make some masters and then cast replicas from resin.

Option 2: Make a jig and bend some fine wire to shape. For the thicker parts, you might want to loop the wire multiple times, and then consolidate into a single piece using super glue.

Option 2a: bend some brass rod/strips to shape as in option 2; use some epoxy or thick superglue to thicken up where the knobs are

Hope these suggestions help.
