Martin B-26 Marauder 1/48

Hy to all,
this is my first post after my introduction.
The subject is the result of circa two years of intermittent work on the old Monogram kit that has been rescribed, riveted and detailed in the visible areas.
The upgrade was made with the help of Eduard Big-Ed set, Quickboost resin engines & guns, True Detail wheels and a lot of scratch building.
I think photos talk better than my poor english…

the bomb bay was completely reworked

the top turret revised

and for now i think is enough…

[Y] You’re off to a great start. I did something similar a few summers ago with one of these kits. And you’re getting the interior colors correct! No interior green was used on Marauders.

Thank you,

it seems that all the surplus stocks of interior green have been used restoring old museum aircrafts[:#] never trust the kit instructions or restored examples are two rules of the game[:D]

Bye

Your interior looks fantastic!

John

Exactly. I used every image of Flak Bait that I could find online as reference. She was stored in 1945 condition, not restored. A perfect time capsule for us 75 years later.

Very convincing super detailing! I’m more than impressed.

Flak Bait is getting put back together by the NASM staff as we speak, so it is a good time to get photos of all the nooks and crannies. It is just getting cleaned up, not “restored” as in the case of the MAPS B-26-0 which they slathered with interior green when they were delivered in NMF.

if i’m not wrong some areas of Flak Bait interiors still wear a protective transparent blue film over the bare alluminium.

Hope to see it soon cleaned up!

That is superb super-detailing. Looks quite authentic.

WOW! Now that is some super detailing! That looks like a ton of fun!!

Thanks,

the building was not easy in some points…

…but who sands wins!

Next step coming soon.

Bye!

Yes, I saw that on wing interior areas in photos.

You are making rapid progress on this build! Excellent!

With all that beautiful interior work you could have made a cut-away version of this it looks so good!

Excellent work sir! Your detailing is just superb. I’ll be following your build closely.

Toshi

Don’t know hw “WOW” translates to Italian, but I’m passed impressed.

Thanks to all,

the rapidity is due to the fact that the model was completed 4 months ago and the shots were taken during the building[:D].

@goldhammer: WOW is WOW all around the world! in italian it can be translated in a dozen of words, the most of them is better not be reported [:$]

WOW is right.

This humbles my B-26 by far and it got a 3rd place at the Orlando IPMS show

ah ha!

Lananda,

The level of fineness is quite impressive and very realistic.

And you are an excellent photographer as well !

Chris

thanks again,

the final shots of the completed model:

the GMC tanker is the beautiful Tamiya kit

and at last the diorama composed:

This is the end…i bet that in a couple o weeks some chinese firm will announce a new kit of the Flying Prostitute…
